SUMMARY:Matt Herzog Band ( EP Release Party ) | Cain & Co.
DESCRIPTION:Matt Herzog Band ( EP Release Party ) 7:50pm – 9:30pm\nJoin us on the patio at Day Block Brewing on Thursday\, July 30\, for a special summer evening celebrating the album release of songwriter and guitarist Matt Herzog and his band. \nFollowing a solo debut album that spurred five years of performances\, songwriter/guitarist Matt Herzog was inspired to record his second album\, Under The Stack\, which fuses American Rock genres and the soulful\, funky-blues sound of Minneapolis. \nHerzog curated the group of diverse musical backgrounds starting with pocket bassist Tim Kennedy and skilled drummer Graham Peterson delivering the tight\, rhythm section. Maia Sletten’s pristine\, folksy harmonies complement Matt’s captivating lyrics and crafty guitar hooks while keyboardist George Bergh accompanies it all through melodic\, instrumental passages. \nThe addition of a horn section (Brady Moroney/tenor sax\, Rob Kocher/trumpet\, Brian Robran/trumpet) has expanded the group’s sonic range and live energy. Still\, the collective is intentional about listening for the explosive or delicate dynamics that the moment calls for. \nUnder The Stack\, recorded at The Terrarium (Engineer Jason Obergfoll)\, mixed by Kevin Bowe and mastered by Bruce Templeton has a street day of 7/31/2026 with two tracks releasing throughout July. \n \nCain & Co. 6:45pm – 7:30pm\nNorthern boys with a southern twang. Cain & Co. brings the traditions of Skynyrd up north. Hailing from St. Paul\, MN\, Michael “Chris” Cain leads a dynamic blues-rock ensemble steeped in Southern tradition. Drawing inspiration from legends like The Allman Brothers\, American Aquarium\, and Blackberry Smoke\, the band crafts a sound that’s both soulful and electrifying. With Gabe Voland on guitar\, Gunnar Bergman pounding the drums\, Gavin Peterson holding down the bass\, and Doug Grimm adding depth on keys\, they create a musical journey that resonates with authenticity and grit. \nFollowing the release of his solo debut and five years of performing throughout the region\, Herzog returns with Under The Stack\, a powerful new collection of songs that blends American rock traditions with the soulful\, funky blues spirit of Minneapolis. Recorded at The Terrarium\, mixed by Kevin Bowe\, and mastered by Bruce Templeton\, the album officially arrives on July 31\, making this performance the perfect chance to hear the music live before release day. \nHerzog has assembled a dynamic group of musicians whose diverse backgrounds create a rich and compelling sound. Bassist Tim Kennedy and drummer Graham Peterson provide a deep\, driving groove\, while Maia Sletten’s warm harmonies elevate Herzog’s thoughtful lyrics and memorable guitar hooks. Keyboardist George Bergh adds melodic textures throughout the set\, and an expanded horn section featuring Brady Moroney (tenor sax)\, Rob Kocher (trumpet)\, and Brian Robran (trumpet) brings even more energy\, color\, and excitement to the band’s live performance. Together\, they balance explosive moments with delicate musical interplay\, creating a show that is both powerful and nuanced. \nOpening the evening is Michael Chris Cain and Cain & Co.\, a blues-rock powerhouse from St. Paul. Inspired by bands such as Lynyrd Skynyrd\, The Allman Brothers Band\, and Blackberry Smoke\, the group delivers a gritty\, soulful sound full of Southern swagger and Northern heart. \nCome enjoy great music\, craft beer\, and a memorable night under the summer sky as two outstanding Minnesota bands take the patio stage. SUMMARY:Buckaroux Banshees | Unattractive Giant Monster | Atomic Lights | Blur Curve
DESCRIPTION:Buckaroux Banshees\nTwin Cities “Resident Party Punkers”\n\nBuckaroux Banshees have been performing high energy live shows — from basements to bar rooms — since 2013.\n\n“Riff-forward and reality-bitten\, we’re here to keep the aging spirit of punk rock not just alive\n— but foaming at the mouth.”\n\nUnattractive Giant Monster\nUnattractive Giant Monster is a post genre\, weirdo sewer punk band from the Twin Cities in Minnesota. Fueled by hot dogs and inspired by bands like The Butthole Surfers\, Devo\, and Diarrhea Planet\, UGM is ready to party. \nAtomic Lights\nAtomic Lights began in the summer of 2012. 3 piece high speed rock and roll with a knack for the noisier side of things. Stay Loud. \nBlur Curve\nWe like it loud and fast. \nBorn from Grunge\, BlurCurve have always been somewhere musically in-between. Neither Grunge nor Progressive Metal\, Shoegaze nor Hardcore\, BlurCurve have forged their own path toward 2023’s Pluto & The Fool. What started as two lifelong friends jamming to whatever felt good and playing as loud as possible\, turned into a journey of self-discovery on the themes of addiction\, loss and regrowth. Singer Alythia Scully (they/them) says as much when discussing their creative process toward writing the songs on Pluto & The Fool\, “I wrote these songs to empower listeners to wake up to their potential and to their own power; all while processing grief\, codependency\, oppression and our society’s need to ‘keep up with the Joneses.’ Songs like Initiation speak to the self-power highlighted where lines like\, ‘words of a language that doesn’t exist’ is meant to dispel the gatekeeping that one practice or doctrine is better than another. There is no ‘language of creation\,’ nobody can teach you anything you won’t learn through stillness and observation.” This introspection is met with the instrumental sonic landscape crafted by other members\, where influences like Catherine Wheel intersect with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Gojira. The entirety of Pluto & The Fool capitalizes on these genre and stylistic intersections to provide a finished product and stage show that lives up to the band’s mantra: We like it loud & fast. \n\nGet ready for a relentless night of loud\, fast\, and unapologetic original music as Buckaroux Banshees\, Unattractive Giant Monster\, Atomic Lights\, and BlurCurve take over the Day Block Brewing Tap Room on Thursday\, July 30. \nHeadlining the night\, Twin Cities favorites Buckaroux Banshees bring their signature brand of high-energy party punk that’s been igniting basements\, bars\, and venues since 2013. With riff-forward anthems and an infectious live show\, they’re keeping the spirit of punk rock alive—and foaming at the mouth. \nJoining the lineup is Unattractive Giant Monster\, a self-described post-genre sewer punk band fueled by hot dogs and inspired by the wild sounds of Butthole Surfers\, Devo\, and Diarrhea Planet. Equal parts chaotic\, quirky\, and unforgettable\, UGM is always ready to throw a party. \nAtomic Lights keep the momentum rolling with their blistering three-piece attack of high-speed rock and roll. Since 2012\, they’ve built a reputation for loud\, fast\, noise-infused performances that never let up. \nOpening the evening is BlurCurve\, a band that refuses to fit neatly into one genre. Blending grunge\, progressive metal\, shoegaze\, hardcore\, and alternative influences\, they create a powerful sonic experience driven by themes of growth\, resilience\, and self-discovery. Their explosive live show combines crushing instrumentation with emotionally charged songwriting for a performance that’s both thought-provoking and intense. \nWhether you’re a lifelong punk fan or just looking for an unforgettable night of original music\, this stacked lineup delivers nonstop energy from the first note to the final encore. Grab a craft beer\, settle into the intimate atmosphere of the Day Block Brewing Tap Room\, and experience four of the Twin Cities’ most exciting original bands sharing one stage.
