SUMMARY:Fiona Hayes | Sugarcoat | Vash the Stampede
DESCRIPTION:Fiona Hayes\nHailing from Saint Paul\, Minnesota\, Fiona Hayes is redefining pop-punk with a voice all her own—literally. Known for her signature layered harmonies and distinctive\, emotionally-charged vocals\, Fiona blends gritty vulnerability with sharp-edged power. Accompanied by Syan Blackwood on drums\, Alex Radecki on lead guitar\, and Zach Nelson on bass\, she delivers sharp lyrics that cut straight to the core—songs about misogyny\, survival\, heartbreak\, and reclamation. At just 15 years old\, Fiona is a raw force in the modern alt-rock and pop-punk scene. Her sound channels the rebellious spirit of ’90s riot grrrl movement\, drawing inspiration from iconic female-fronted bands and giving it a fresh twist that reflects today’s heavy\, female-led punk resurgence. Currently working on her debut album\, Fiona Hayes’ music bridges generations of women in rock while claiming her own space in the scene. \nSugarcoat\nEmerging from the dive bars of Minneapolis\, MN\, sugarcoat feel comfortable on any size stage. Drawing from mid 00’s emo giants like Jimmy Eat World\, Taking Back Sunday\, and Emery\, they’ve carved out their own catchy sound. The quartet of John Schreier (vocals and guitar)\, Sean Winner (guitar)\, Charlie Schwandt (bass)\, and Tyler Smith (drums)\, are all seasoned musicians with unique artistic backgrounds. Their broad range of influences coalesce in a diverse sound that is constantly evolving. \nVash the Stampede\nVash the Stampede’s emo-rock EP Ephemeral was written & recorded by vocalist/ guitarist Marty Lee while living in Tempe\, AZ in 2012. But desire to bring Ephemeral to life on stage only sparked after he relocated to Minneapolis in 2020.With friendship as a foundation\, the lineup includes musicians already established in the local scene: Conor Lee (lead guitar)\, Hope Hook (violin)\, Jake Gau (bass) and JT Viele (drums/bgv). Pop  vocals wrapped by thick crunchy guitars and melancholic lead lines define Vash’s sound: heavy yet melodic. Vash the Stampede as a band is “new” but that doesn’t limit the mark they want to make on the local music scene. \n  \nGet ready for a night of fearless\, high-energy rock as three of Minnesota’s most exciting alt acts take the stage at Day Block Brewing. \nFiona Hayes—the 15-year-old pop-punk powerhouse from Saint Paul—is redefining what it means to be young and unapologetically loud. Armed with sharp lyrics and a voice that swings between raw vulnerability and electric confidence\, Fiona channels the riot grrrl spirit for a new generation. Backed by Syan Blackwood (drums)\, Alex Radecki (lead guitar)\, and Zach Nelson (bass)\, she turns themes of misogyny\, survival\, and self-reclamation into blistering anthems of defiance. Currently working on her debut album\, Fiona Hayes stands at the forefront of the modern\, female-led punk resurgence—proof that rebellion has no age limit. \nJoining the bill\, Sugarcoat bring their nostalgic yet fresh mid-2000s emo sound to the stage. Emerging from Minneapolis’s dive-bar circuit\, their dynamic blend of punchy guitars and melodic hooks nods to bands like Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday. Members John Schreier\, Sean Winner\, Charlie Schwandt\, and Tyler Smith fuse their distinct artistic backgrounds into a sound that’s emotional\, catchy\, and ever-evolving. \nRounding out the night\, Vash the Stampede infuse their emotionally charged rock with lush violin textures and thick\, crunchy guitars. Born from Marty Lee’s introspective Ephemeral EP\, the band now features Conor Lee\, Hope Hook\, Jake Gau\, and JT Viele. Their music balances heaviness with melody\, sorrow with hope—a perfect prelude to a night that refuses to sugarcoat anything. \nThree bands. One unforgettable night. Doors open early—grab a pint\, stake out your spot\, and let the amplifiers speak.
