With songs about home\, family ties\, growth\, loss\, and love\, lead singer (and eldest daughter) Monica Merila takes the listener on a journey through a dynamic relationship with self. Backed by lead guitarist Austin Reid\, bass player Sonja Quartz Leaf\, and drummer Isaac Feia\, this fearless foursome is on a mission to share their music with Minnesota and beyond. \n \nTarias and the Sound\nEverything and everyone has a frequency. All it takes is a bit of listening to find inspiration from the natural rhythms of life. Tarias and the Sound is the musical brainchild of me\, Minnesota’s own Anthony Omodt-Lopez. Utilizing my roots in the blues and musical theatre\, as well as a Gen. Z perspective on the world\, I hope to create a unique and resonant experience for the listener. \n \n

Dozens of demos soon followed. Montoya brought these songs to Wally Joseph\, and together they spent months refining and completing them. Through this process\, Montoya realized he couldn’t do it alone. He needed other musicians — other moving parts — to build The Montoya Machine. Each member plays a vital role\, creating something greater than the sum of its parts. Launched in 2025\, The Montoya Machine’s live iteration embraces a deliberately human approach: eschewing the sterile precision of digital production in favor of the raw\, imperfect beauty of music performed entirely by human hands. Jordan is focused on crafting songs with strong hooks and catchy melodies. Jordan has opened for R&B superstars including Stokley\, former frontman of Mint Condition\, Lyfe Jenngins as well as NPG legend\, Liv Warfield on the main stage at Prince’s home\, Paisley Park. \nJordan has assembled a live all-star band to back him. On drums\, his father Bob Johnston is a former staff writer & producer for Grammy Award Wining and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis of Flyte Tyme Productions. On Keyboards is Demar DEMZ Gayle from the national touring\, Grammy nominated reggae band “Raging Fyah.” On bass is Ace Mack.
