DESCRIPTION:Mike Cohen\, a versatile saxophonist and woodwind player based in New York City\, has an impressive list of collaborations including the Duke Ellington Band\, Eric Person big band\, Ray Vega\, Hank Jones\, Harvey S\, Jeff “Tain” Watts\, and Eddie Allen. \nHe has performed at renowned venues including Lincoln Center\, the Blue Note\, Dizzy’s Coca Cola\, Montreal Jazz Festival\, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall\, the Sarasota Opera House\, and Core Center arena in Philadelphia. Cohen has also contributed to numerous pit orchestras both on and off Broadway. \nHis latest album\, “Winter Sun\,” released in October 2021\, features all-original compositions. Rooted in jazz\, it chronicles a personal challenge Cohen faced at age 13 when he was diagnosed with AML\, a deadly form of leukemia. Decades later\, he found the courage to reflect on and express this experience through his music\, inadvertently creating compositions that echo his initial hospitalization and the grueling nine-week battle with chemotherapy. The album has garnered positive reviews\, substantial radio play\, and has performed well on jazz charts.

DESCRIPTION:Spells and Curses\nAfter losing a parent\, ending a relationship and leaving unhealthy friend circles all within a few months\, theRave was forced to start a new chapter in life by exercising unfamiliar feelings of love and loss: so he turned to music and formed Spells and Curses. \nBut it was the loss of a family member to suicide that gave his work a focused purpose; to prove that despite our past trauma\, surviving and making a better life is the ultimate revenge. Spells and Curses attempt this by creating music to explore one’s “inner space”\, with songs that act as a “spell” to enhance the moment\, or a “curse” to damn it. \nSince then\, the mission has been to inspire those looking to free themselves from toxic and traumatic environments. To empower people whose attempts at improving their lives are met with resistance or negativity. To show anyone that the venom of opposition can be turned into the basis of courage. This focus on love\, hate\, vitriol\, and freedom has been the tenet of Spells and Curses’ entire output; as seen through self-produced albums (such as SUADADE and Sinful Things)\, to currently releasing a new song and music video every 2 months. \n This show is free to the public and all are welcome! \n

DESCRIPTION:Cassandra Johnson\nCassandra was born and raised in a rural farming town in North Dakota and currently resides in St. Paul\, Minnesota. She is active in the Twin Cities music scene and across genres both as a guitarist and solo artist. Some of her work as a guitarist includes performing with The Good Time Gals at the Minnesota State Fair\, accompanying singer/songwriter Sammie Jean\, and composing for her own jazz/indie band Astronomy Town. As well as supporting others\, Cassandra performs her original songs as a solo act. \nEmmy Woods\nEmmy Woods (she/they) was born and raised on an old dirt* road in rural North Dakota and currently resides in Saint Paul\, Minnesota. With hints of country\, folk\, and blues\, Emmy’s songs showcase both her knack for storytelling\, her strengths in musical artistry\, and an impressive vocal range and ability. When asked to describe her sound in three words\, Dr. Kyle Smith said\, “Queer Farm Vibes… or maybe… Sad Boy Progressive.” While Emmy has been writing songs for over 20 years\, her first collection of songs\, tristia bella\, as well as her albums the manifold and delirium were not released until 2020. What started as brother-sister duo\, Nathan Land on the keys and drums and writer and vocalist Rachel Land\, is now a five piece crew playing in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. The siblings grew up playing music near the boundary waters of MN. I’ve been making music for close to ten years now and as for music\, I am mainly a rapper that’s transitioning into other sounds such as shoegaze and punk-ish sounds.  \nWilliam Statler \nDominick Fields is an independent artist\, producer and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Minneapolis with roots in the Chicago suburbs. He pursues creating music that blends his powerful vocal style with undeniably tuneful melody and graceful songwriting. Dominick Fields attended university to become a landscape architect but had always taken to the writing\, performing and recording of music both with his band Fertile\, aka The Fertile Boys and at home. Upon graduating from school and practicing as a full-time landscape designer in Dallas\, Texas he frequented the open mics around Deep Ellum and began recording the collection of songs that would become his debut album “Place on the Sun”. Check out his latest EP “Lying Still And Staring At The Ceiling” out now. \nTommy Blossom is an indie pop artist from Minneapolis who makes danceable tunes inspired by nature and Studio Ghibli movies.  He just released his fourth self-produced album “Horizon” and he’s finally getting out of the apartment to play some super cool shows.  He also plays bass in the post-punk band “True Lust” and works as music director for a local theater company in St Paul.

The band is shaking up the traditional concept of a rock band by trading instruments\, featuring multiple “lead” singers\, and applying general queer chaos. If you want to rock out\, cry\, and dance–a Not Your Baby show is the one for you. They might not be your baby\, but you are certainly theirs. \nClidesfeld\n \nClidesfeld is an alternative rock and post-punk project by Brandon Patrick Sullivan of Minneapolis\, Minnesota. Performing as a power trio with Andrew Yost and Jaime Rossow\, Clidesfeld tells layered personal stories of dysfunction and estrangement through irony\, allegory\, and often lots of distortion. \nBasement Heroes\nBasement Heroes are three cool guys looking for other cool guys\, gals\, and humans to listen to their music. They make a combination of pop-punk\, emo\, and alternative music that somehow…works? From nonsensical song titles to electronic-inspired breakdowns\, you’re sure to be left thinking “What the [expletive] did I just listen to?”

Growing up in Austin\, Texas\, Bryn immersed herself in the area’s dynamic music scene\, co-producing her debut EP All I Have to Offer You Is Anything You Want with Curtis McMurtry and Diana Burgess (of Austin’s Mother Falcon) in 2020. Her sophomore EP Hang Your Clothes explores her relationship with ADHD through smart lyricism and lively string parts.
