DESCRIPTION:Benefit Concert for Tim Turner\nFeaturing Musical Performances by Chin Whiskers Band\, Lazarus & AJ Stone and Forrest Hunter \nTim Turner’s Story \nHey there. I hope that his note finds you well! Thanks in advance for your interest in my journey.\nI had an ACL repair in April of 2025\, and rehab seemed to go well\, other than an occasional fall. I chalked up these falls to recovering from knee surgery. After completing Physical Therapy rehab\, I resumed normal activities\, and I went back to work. Others noticed changes in my walking\, and how I looked\, but I didn’t see the changes. I thought everything was going along just fine\, but I was wrong about that…\nDecember 1st\, 2025-I understand that I had 3 falls. The last fall ended with an ambulance ride\, and a couple of days in the hospital for scans\, and observation. This is where the tumor was discovered. It is a benign\, large\, slow growing tumor. The tumor prevented the circulation of fluids out of the skull\, resulting in increased pressure in the brain which caused\, poor balance\, memory loss\, and hearing loss(left side).\nDecember 8th\, 2025- A shunt was placed at the right rear of my skull\, to decrease the pressure inside. Thankfully\, the shunt helped prevent more falls\, and bought some time until surgery could be scheduled for the tumor.\nMarch 9th 2026-Surgery happened early and continued for 16 hours(due to the delicate nerves involved and how the tumor was/is involved in them).  The surge\nComplications..\nLeft side facial paralysis\, silent aspiration with swallowing\, 2 types of pneumonia (which required strong antibiotics\, and intubation for 1 week). During this time\, I lost over 25 pounds\, and I was very weak. I am still receiving tube feedings(which may last a while)\, but I am able to eat some pureed foods.\nRehab\nAfter the pneumonias were resolved\, I got admitted to an Inpatient Rehabilitation\, program for 3 weeks\, that included Speech Therapy(cognition/swallowing)\, Occupational Therapy(regaining fine motor movement)\, and Physical Therapy(balance/walking). I was discharged to home on April 16th. Luckily\, my wife Kari is a nurse and has been able to work from home and care for me. I have been going to outpatient PT/OT\, and Speech Therapies 2x weekly for each since I’ve been home. I am not able to drive\, yet.  I have an amazing support network that have been getting me to these appointments.(Thank you!!!).\nThe future is uncertain\, another surgery is possible\, radiation to shrink the remainder of the tumor or both. DESCRIPTION:Second Hand Dan\nSecond Hand Dan is a dual-vocalist Minnesotan indie rock band consisting of Collyn Camara (lead guitar)\, Graden Hill (vocals/guitar)\, George Knier (keys)\, Ben Schwartz (drums)\, and Rachel Scott (vocals/bass). The group has been gigging regularly in the Twin Cities for well over a decade. Their evolution is captured across the 2020 LP From Nothing to Nothing\, 2023’s Before We Dry Up\, and the songs they’re currently debuting live. Between shows\, the band is currently in the studio working on the new set of recordings.\n\nLarrikins\n“I want to get stuck in their heads”\, was what Tom Blackburn (song writer/guitarist) was thinking to himself when he decided to try his hand at songwriting. Blending various pop and rock influences\, with an emphasis on catchy/jangly guitars and a strong rhythm section\, Larrikins aims to write songs that are as fun to listen to as they are to play. Enlisting long time friends Brian Wahl (vocals/bass) and Kevin Zech (vocals/guitar) and the addition of Ryan Babiracki (drums)\, transformed the bedroom jingles into hard hitting pop rock bops.\n\nMoneybones\nMoneybones is a rock trio from Minneapolis. Tight and heavy\, yet groovy and melodic. The rhythm section has played together since childhood and their frontman fits like he was always supposed to be there. Three years in\, they sound like a band that’s been doing this much longer. We’ve been actively performing across Minnesota since last August & can’t wait to see you at the show! \nLazy River Road\nLazy River Road is a Grateful Dead tribute band from Mankato that includes one of our members\, Austin Sadler. Both bands will play together during our encore for a few songs. We ran this same setup at Amsterdam in February\, and it was a great turnout! Everyone’s stoked to bring it back to Day Block. \nGet ready for a night of soaring jams\, psychedelic grooves\, and unforgettable live music at Day Block Brewing on Saturday\, August 22\, featuring Fortunate Suns and special guests Lazy River Road. \nFortunate Suns have quickly established themselves as one of Minnesota’s most exciting live acts\, blending psychedelic improvisation\, Southern-inspired country rock\, and heavy\, riff-driven energy into a sound all their own. Their dynamic live presence has earned them a growing following across the state since they began performing regularly in 2024. \nThe band released their debut EP\, Last Train Out\, in 2025\, showcasing their signature mix of expansive jams\, melodic songwriting\, and powerful rock instrumentation. One year later\, they captured the energy of their live performances with the release of LIVE AT THE AMSTERDAM on April 4\, 2026.
