China Rider Presents: Prankin’ on the Patio
Get on the bus and join this merry band of pranksters as we dance, shake, twirl, and groove to the timeless wonders of Grateful Dead music performed by China Rider. We’re closing out our Decade of Dead Summer with an evening of live music on the patio at Day Block Brewery in downtown Minneapolis, MN.
Doors open 6:00pm with music starting promptly at 7:00pm (Day Block Brewing is open all afternoon)
$12 advance, $15 door
China Rider is a high-energy, five-piece rock & roll band dedicated to bringing the music of the Grateful Dead to life. More than just a tribute act, China Rider recreates the magic, excitement, and improvisational spirit of an authentic Dead show—right in your backyard.
Dreamed up by Logan Thomas in 2015, the band began as a group of passionate local musicians tackling the challenge of capturing the Dead’s legendary sound. After nearly a year honing their craft in The Bunkhouse, they finally took the stage in June 2016 in downtown St. Cloud, MN—and haven’t looked back since. Since then, China Rider has been electrifying audiences across Minnesota, playing everywhere from music festivals to major concert venues. Want to catch us live? So, what’s in a name? China Rider comes from one of the most iconic Grateful Dead medleys: China Cat Sunflower flowing seamlessly into I Know You Rider—a staple in Deadhead culture. And just like that, a tribute band was born!
