Heliocene ( Single Release Show )

Heliocene are a “post-everything” band from Minneapolis, fearlessly blending elements of math rock, fusion, post-punk, prog, and whatever else they can get their hands on into a style all their own. Known for their electrifying live performances combining intricate and ever changing compositions with intense improvisation, Heliocene has been melting faces across the Twin Cities and the greater Minnesota area for over three years.

Ray Gun Youth

Minnesota’s Ray Gun Youth weave various strains of psychedelic rock, emo, punk, and even folk into dynamic songs about what it means to listen to your body and soul. With lyrics touching on singer Jake Frazier’s experiences starting life anew after a cult upbringing, the group’s self-released debut LP Second Estate swings from fuzzed-out powerful catharsis to gentle reflections, bringing to mind groups such as Pile, Hotline TNT, Microwave, and Hooveriii. Ray Gun Youth is singer/guitarist Jake Frazier, bassist Travis Clark, and drummer Hunter Theisen.

Damn Phibian

Damn Phibian is a Minnesota-based alternative rock project bringing a gritty, high-energy blend of punk attitude, indie edge, and heavy groove-driven dynamics. Rooted in the Twin Cities underground scene, the band delivers raw, unapologetic performances built on driving rhythms, distorted textures, and catchy yet aggressive hooks. Their music channels themes of tension, humor, and release, balancing chaos with control. Known for intense live shows, Damn Phibian continues to carve out a distinct voice in Minnesota’s DIY rock community.

Celebrate a landmark night of Minnesota music at Day Block Brewing on Friday, July 10th, as Heliocene hosts their official single release show, joined by an explosive lineup featuring Ray Gun Youth Band and Damn Phibian.

Heliocene leads the night with their signature blend of atmospheric indie rock, weaving together expansive textures, driving rhythms, and emotionally resonant songwriting. Drawing from alternative rock, post-rock, and modern indie influences, their music moves fluidly between quiet introspection and cinematic, full-force release. Known for immersive live performances, Heliocene crafts a sound that feels both intimate and vast—anchored in themes of change, memory, and human connection. This single release marks an exciting new chapter in their evolving sound and artistic identity.

Joining them is Ray Gun Youth Band, a Twin Cities alternative rock outfit known for their high-energy, DIY-driven approach. Their sound fuses punk urgency with indie rock melody, built on angular guitars, propulsive rhythms, and emotionally charged hooks. With themes rooted in youth, identity, and release, their performances are fast-moving, loud, and cathartic—balancing raw intensity with memorable songwriting that keeps audiences locked in from start to finish.

Rounding out the lineup is Damn Phibian, delivering gritty, groove-heavy alternative rock with a punk edge. Their sound thrives on distortion, tension, and release, blending chaotic energy with sharp hooks and an unapologetic DIY attitude. Known for unpredictable and high-impact live shows, they bring a raw, underground spirit that perfectly complements the night’s energy.

Together, this lineup showcases three distinct but complementary voices from Minnesota’s thriving independent rock scene. From cinematic indie rock to punk-infused alternative chaos, the night captures the full spectrum of modern Twin Cities music.

Set inside the vibrant atmosphere of Day Block Brewing, expect a packed room, loud guitars, emotional release, and a true celebration of new music. This is more than a single release—it’s a showcase of momentum, community, and the future of Minnesota rock unfolding live on stage.
